Week 3: Work Share pt 109/23

  • Develop 3 proposals for your portfolio including: platform, organization principle, table of contents, and concept. These proposals should include visual references – sketches, screenshots/moodboard, and/or references of other portfolios
  • Sign up for your studio / designer presentation as part of the Interview project here and prepare your presentation for your selected date

Week 4: Work Share pt 209/30

  • Students present on past work and goals after school (pt 2)
  • Review portfolio strategies in small groups
  • If time, look over your Self-Portrait Exercises
  • Create a Portfolio Timeline and send to chris by 10/07
  • Work on your portfolio design by designing "pages" (can be for web, print, and/or other...) that represent each page type in your portfolio (ie. landing page, information page, work detail page, etc.). We will review them in small groups next week, and present to larger groups on 10/14 after you have made revisions.

Week 5: Sketches09/30

  • Theodora Føien, Tsering Wangyal, Justin Kim, Yung Kyung Lee, and Daye Jang present on studios / designers they're interested in interviewing
  • Small group check-ins about your portfolio page designs and Portfolio Timeline
  • Continue making progress on your portfolio page designs
  • Make progress based on your own Portfolio Timeline

Week 6: Refinement10/14

  • Junghyeok Park, Christie Huang, Youmin Kye, and Yoonsuh Shin, present on studios / designers they're interested in interviewing
  • Small group check-ins about your portfolio designs
  • Portfolio "pages" updates
  • Review the business cards website, and create a rough draft of your business card for review
  • Continue making progress on your portfolio based on your "Portfolio Timeline"
  • Please contact your top 1-2 choices for an interview (a reminder, in four weeks the transcript and imagery (11.11) for your interview is due)

  • Prepare a brief (~6 min) presentation to the class showcasing your portfolio. Due to time contstraints we need to be succint! Please time and practice your presentation ahead of time!

Week 9: Check-In + Planning11/04

  • Portfolio Status Updates + Class Feedback
    • Let's meet in two groups, please share a status update on all materials in your portfolio. To have a change of pace in review style, let's have our meeting be more presentation-oriented – please share a 6 minute presentation with the class
  • (~6 min) presentation showcasing your portfolio status
  • Go to 1 or more talks at IDCC! (Chris will be there the whole time so I will know if you attended! 👀)
  • Make progress on your portfolio based on your portfolio timeline
