참여자 여러분의 관심사에 대해 생각해본다. 이 관심사는 여러분의 전공, 디자인 분야, 그리고 다른 영역 등 과 연결된 것일 수 있다. 예: 커뮤니케이션 디자인, 음악, 패션, 과학, 기술, 문화, 상업, 사회, 공공, 교육 영역 등). 이는 어떤 것도 될 수 있지만—물리적, 촉각적, 구체적, 가시적, 청각적, 추상적, 비가시적, 무형의 것 등—반드시 여러분의 관심사와 관련있는 것이어야 한다.
Think about your interests in your major, design area, and other sectors (e.g., communication design, music, fashion, science, technology, cultural, commercial, societal, public, educational sectors, and others). They can be anything—physical, tactile, concrete, visible, audible, abstract, invisible, intangible— but need to be part of your interests,

위 [1]번에서 생각한 아이디어와 관련한 적절하고 특정한 자료를 조사하고 수집한다. 가능한 자료의 유형은 다음과 같다: 이미지(사진, 일러스트레이션 스타일, 그래픽, 정보 관련 등), 텍스트, 동영상, 음성/음향 녹음 기록물, 실물 오브젝트, 제품 등. 온라인 및 오프라인 모두에서 수집 가능.
Search and collect relevant/certain materials that came with the ideas above [1]. The types of materials can be: Images (photographic, illustrative, graphic, informational), text, video, voice/sound records, physical objects, products from both online and offline.

위의 [2]번 항목에서 안내한 내용을 인쇄/출력하여 워크숍 수업에 지참한다. 필요하다면 참여자는 이미 존재하는 인쇄물을 가져올 수도 있다(예컨대 책, 잡지, 신문 등). 또한 관심있는 주제와 관련한 것이라면 실물 오브젝트 그리고/또는 녹음한 음성이나 소리와 같이 보이지 않는 재료를 가져오는 일도 가능하다.
Bring printouts of [2] above as raw materials (no quantity limit, black and white or color available) to the workshop session. If needed, a participant can bring existing (ready-made) printed matters (e.g., books, magazines, newspapers). A student can also bring physical objects and/or invisible materials such as voice/sound recording, as long as they are associated with the topic to which you are gravitating.

랩톱(노트북) 컴퓨터, 종이(A3, A4 용지 등), 가위/커터, 재단용 매트(칼판), 풀/테이프 등 재단/접착도구, 기타 필기구 및 채색 도구(연필, 펜, 수채물감 등). [접근하기 편리한 것을 가져오세요, 크리스도 가져올 겁니다...]
Other supplies:
laptop, papers(A3, A4 format, etc.), scissors/x-acto knife, Schneidematten(cutting mat), gluestick, 3M tapes, other writing/drawing/coloring supplies (pencils, pens, water colors). [Please bring any you have conveniently accessible, chris will also bring some...]
