Portfolio Making Resource
In addition to creating your portfolio, this semester you will be tasked with creating a resource for a future Portfolio Design class. The spirit of this class is about engaging with the broader design community. This is one way we can contribute to the SNU design culture over time.
Your resource can be anything you feel would be helpful for developing a design portfolio. There is no set format, but you may consider...
- An interview with a studio or designer presented as a website, series of social media posts, or booklet
- A list of online portfolio-making tools
- Excerpts from books that give insights into good portfolio making
- A protocol for taking photos of works and doing screen-recordings
- Digital templates for mocking up printed works
The one requirement for the project is that it should be produced (online or physically) and not just be a mock-up or proposal. And it should be *accesible to everyone in class* (if printed there should be enough copies for everyone, if online it should work on most devices, etc.)
etc.
There are only a few deadlines for the project, as it is based around your own preferences. We'll have the following check-ins
- 11/06 Share your concept for a portfolio-making resource
- 11/27 Rough draft due
- 12/11 Share final portfolio making resource
In past portfolio design classes, this assignment was framed as an interview we made into an online student publication. You can view past versions here as a reference:
